The Devil's in the Detail
For the Fortune we have used simplicity for the dial, along with sunken, contrasting lateral sub-dials, applied 12 index and name plate, and raised outer chapter ring. The hour and minute hands are sword profiles, with a ridge running along the middle and polished to a mirror shine. This gives us contrast for the hands to reflect the environment, catching light on either of the facets.
Each sub-dial features one of two hand styles - the running seconds hand matches the polished main hour and minute hands. For the Chronoscope functions, the sub-dial and timed second hands are painted in a separate style to differentiate them. It’s subtle and perhaps, to some, imperceptible. But it’s there for a reason, and that’s the Marloe way.
The Fortune features a classic Panda dial with red accents, and the number '12' applied in solid black blocks to give a bold look.
Radial sub dials at 3 and 9 complement the panda dial, and a subtle yet eye-catching date window completes this contrasting design.
Faceted bezel meets brushed, angular edges and brightly polished, smooth steel surfaces; the design of the case allows the Atlantic to nestle into the wrist thanks to the aggressively angled lugs, each one faceted to catch the light.
The inimitable, beefy powerhouse that is the NE88a offers both a power reserve of 45-hours and a timing mechanism built within the chassis to give a 12-hour chronoscope function.
Our watches are produced in small batches and each watch is finished with a unique serial number - which you can choose using the drop down list above.
“If you're on the fence about the Fortune, don't be. This piece is well made and will exceed your expectations. The finishing, comfort, design and color scheme just blew me away”
“Thoroughly pleased with this beautiful watch in every way, better finish than many watches I have had costing double or more - great movement and superb strap.”
“Received my Atlantic Fortune watch from Marloe Watch Company and it looks even nicer in the flesh than it does online.”
The Atlantic range traverses flight through the ages, from the first crossing of the Atlantic Ocean by Alcock & Brown, to the incredible return journey of the R34 Airship.
The Fortune takes inspiration from East Fortune Airfield, the launchpad for the R34’s journey, which is now a racetrack. With its race car colouring and simplified dial textures, the Fortune celebrates the modern day use of this historical location.
To soar into the sky and float aloft in the wind, peering down on the world below, knowing that, if you so wished, you could touch the stars.
Welcome to the Atlantic Chronoscope, borne from a love of flight, inspired by the pioneering spirits that risked life and limb to achieve it.
The case of the Atlantic measures 43mm in diameter with 22mm lugs - giving the watch great presence on the wrist. From caseback to crystal the watch measures 15mm thick, whilst the 50mm lug-to-lug sizing complements the case perfectly.
