The Coniston Steel is a feast of diverse textures and colour, independent and contrasting elements coming together into one striking timepiece. Radial brushing gives the metallic face its sunburst effect, creating depth and catching the eye with each movement of the wrist. Black nickel plated hour appliqués, logo and outer seconds track stand their ground in contrast to the metal, and polished hands tie the dial together with the case. A vivid red second hand and hour markers bring a pop of colour to the face; a subtle flourish in a dial full of details.

A ring of Superluminova, sunken between the outer rehaut and the central plateau, provides a welcome break from the norm; using negative space and working with the lume-tipped hands to show the passing of time after dark.

Coniston

"Courage is not being fearless" - words spoken while pushing and breaking the boundaries of physics and human endeavour, Donald Campbell was no stranger to challenges of extreme engineering and danger. The Coniston is inspired by its namesake lake, where Donald and his father Sir Malcolm Campbell set numerous water-speed records.

In 1967, Donald Campbell achieved a top speed of over 320 miles per hour on the return leg of a record-breaking attempt - he then lost control of Bluebird, which somersaulted and crashed. Campbell sadly lost his life.

From the moment of opening the box right through to seeing it on his wrist, the experience could not have been better.

Bought for my husband. He loves it! Looks very expensive. Great attention to detail.
