  • My dad (now passed) was a native of Yorkshire who migrated from England to Australia after the war.
He came from a family of coalminers and they had a thing for their kids – you couldn’t give em much but by heaven you gave em a watch – that was their get out the door card to the world.

Watches always meant a lot to my dad and he passed that on to me and now i’ve done that with my son. My choice of the Derwent as a classic self wind watch comes after years (decades!) of looking for the perfect watch while making do with a something nothing workhorse along the way. Now with the Derwent on hand I reckon the search is over. My family are relieved!
    Love your work folks!

  • Sadly my Dad passed away many years ago, in the Age of only 62 – because of Cancer.
I remember many things, but the most intense one is him teaching me how to ride a bicycle. I fall down, and said that I won’t ride my bike anymore – never ever. He told me, that everytime you fall, you have to keep up trying. I tried again, and it worked. He then said “well son, you will do that your whole live, and not only riding a bike. Its no problem to fall, but important to get up”
