Tropic Yellow Rubber

The Sceptre’s origins lie in research into nuclear submarines and the shadow of the Cold War - one of our earliest designs was even called “October.” So when it came to reimagining the Sceptre for the S2 series, Gordon found inspiration in a different kind of retrofuturism: an atompunk world drawn from a cult-classic game and its TV adaptation. This striking colourway pays homage to the utilitarian overalls worn by those who sought refuge in the Vaults - nuclear shelters built to protect humanity after the Great War of 2077.

The dial is a faded navy blue, its radiating textural lines leading to a raised, darker blue chapter ring printed with golden yellow and crisp white markings. Polished appliqué echo the unmistakable form of radiation symbols, while the outward bezel is drenched in a full golden-yellow paint fill. Bold, evocative, and otherworldly - this is a colourway that feels like it belongs to a future imagined in the past.

ASSEMBLED IN-HOUSE

Each Sceptre S2 is proudly assembled in-house, allowing us to maintain complete control over quality and detail at every stage. This hands-on approach ensures that every watch reflects the care, precision, and craftsmanship that define our brand - making each piece not just a product, but a personal expression of our commitment to excellence.

DISTINCTIVE DESIGN

The dial is the heart of the Sceptre S2, designed for clarity and impact. Its multi-layered construction begins with a tall, squared chapter ring carrying a precise 60-minute/second scale, before dropping to a textured main surface that emphasises depth and legibility. The etched dial hosts bold appliqué, including a striking cardinal marker inspired by the radioactive symbol - three triangles and a circle - alongside polished steel-framed batons, all filled with Superluminova for exceptional visibility.

Complementing the dial is the new propeller-style handset, featuring sword-shaped hour and minute hands with generous lume pads and an aperture detail on the minute hand that aligns perfectly with the hour lume. A hairline seconds hand adds refinement with its polished finish, anchor counterweight, and printed accent colours. Together, these elements create a dial that is not only highly legible but visually dynamic, blending rugged functionality with distinctive design.

One of our favourite young British brands, Marloe watches cannot be matched for great British value

BRITISH BUILT

Ten years ago, Oliver - co-founder of Marloe - had a dream: to create a watch brand that embraced the unique, captured the romance of mechanical movements, and made them accessible to those stepping into the world of horology for the first time. That dream found its perfect counterpart in industrial designer Gordon Fraser, and together they’ve brought it to life.

Twenty collections and 20,000 watches later, Marloe stands for uncompromising design and remarkable quality. And now, in our tenth year, we’ve taken a bold step forward - bringing watch assembly in-house. This marks a new chapter not only for us, but for British watchmaking itself. It’s a move that deepens our connection to craft, elevates our standards, and reaffirms our commitment to building something lasting and meaningful.

RUGGED CHARACTER

The Sceptre S2's case is a statement of pure strength and intent. Measuring 42mm across and 12.6mm tall, it strikes the perfect balance - commanding on the wrist yet refined in profile. Finished in a fully matte blasted texture, the case amplifies its rugged character, embodying the bold, uncompromising design language of the Sceptre.
