Something peculiar has been happening at Marloe HQ once again...

The skies have brightened, the workshop has been awash with colour, and somehow, another Haggis Works creation has made its way onto the bench.

It seems the Haggis have taken inspiration from the Aerodyne's muse, Amelia Earhart, with a subtle nod to Howland Island - the tiny Pacific outpost that was destined to be her next landfall, but tragically never reached. The exhibition caseback features the unmistakable clouds of the remote Pacific speck she set out to reach but never did, through which her faithful aircraft can be seen soaring onwards.

But beneath the whimsy lies the same attention to detail and craftsmanship you'd expect from Marloe. Each watch is carefully assembled in-house at our Oxfordshire workshop before making its way into the world.

 

Marloe's Special Project Division.

It started as a whisper. A rumour. A myth. A workshop within the workshop.

Beneath the floorboards and behind forgotten vents, the Haggis built their own secret division. When the lights go out and the hum of the main team fades, they emerge. Tools vanish. Blueprints disappear. Days later, they return - altered, redesigned… or something else entirely.

DESIGNED BY HAGGIS

Sunny brings a little optimism to the wrist. A soft blue dial is dressed with the distinctive Howland Clouds, while the date wheel has been painted in Sunny's favourite colour, complete with black numerals and, naturally, a Haggis celebrating the 25th.

Turn the watch over and things become decidedly less sensible. The Haggis seem to have decorated the exhibition caseback with more Howland Clouds, allowing a custom rotor featuring Amelia Earhart's aircraft to fly endlessly through them. Then, in what can only be described as a bold creative decision, they've cast Sunny as the sun at the centre of the scene. Whether this is artistic genius or outright vanity remains a matter of debate. Either way, the result is wonderfully ridiculous.

They quietly infiltrate Marloe’s creative process, hijacking comms and nudging designs in unexpected directions, all while staying just out of sight.

SHINY HAGGIS EGG

Sunny’s case looks suspiciously like someone got hold of an Aerodyne and buffed it to within an inch of its life - possibly out of mischief, possibly because they mistook it for a particularly shiny haggis egg. It now has that unmistakable “I definitely wasn’t this reflective yesterday” vibe. Catch it in the right light and it practically winks back at you, as if fully aware it’s the most polished thing in the room and deeply pleased with itself.
