What more can we say about the Black Edition other than it’s becoming a bit of a thing. What began as a special edition Haskell has now spawned multiple versions of this inimitable colour scheme, including a Coniston, Morar and now a Sceptre.

These Limited Edition models all feature a black dial with sandy accents - a colour match made in heaven if you ask us!

All our watches are made in sequentially numbered small batches - the Sceptre Black Edition is a limited run of 300 pieces.

The Devil's In The Detail

Like the other Black Edition designs the Sceptre edition features a matte black dial, chapter ring and hands. The faded gold printing on the dial, chapter ring and case-back pop in the darkness, with the glossy white of the hand tips and luminous pontoons giving the clarity specs a massive boost. This is an incredibly easy to read dial design.

There’s something wonderful about the combo of black dials and blue AR coated crystals, and with the Black Edition we get a wonderful taste of the spectrum of deep water colour. When the light catches just right, we're treated to a visual trick of the eye: a vivid blue flash, a blue to black gradient and a strip of jet black on the dial surface. You could say this one is our favourite, but that would be unfair to the others.

Turbine Bezel

The rifled grip on the bezel gives a subtle nod to our beloved Morar, but takes on an altogether more aggressive stance - looking similar to a turbine inside a nuclear submarine.

The case is a polished chassis with the bezel featuring blasted recesses on the grip and a radial brushed finish to the top surface. Stainless steel 316L, a marine grade steel, is used to prevent rusting when exposed to the salty atmospheres of coastal operations.

Behind the exhibition caseback lies the engineering marvel that is the Miyota 9039. This automatic calibre beats at 28,800 bph and offers a power reserve of 40+ hours.

The Sceptre features proprietary lume on both the dial and hands to aid low light time referencing.

Small Batch

Our watches are produced in small batches and each watch is finished with a unique serial number.

I own too many watches (my wife's opinion, not mine) but the Sceptre Black Edition caught my eye and its simple design appealed to me, so I ordered one and I'm totally impressed with this watch.

Allan W.

I saw the Scepre Black Edition and was sold immediately. It's design is in that sweet spot - a unique piece but not flashy. It's undeniably a must for anyone looking for a first mechanical watch.

Miles W.

It's not often that my expectations are exceeded when buying a watch online, but the Sceptre Black Edition is one of those rare cases. The finish is excellent and on par with watches double the price.

Aggressive design

The world under the waves is not a place for the light of heart - it’s a dangerous place, obviously, but formidable, challenging, changing and complicated too. Whilst the Solent range was designed to be worn whilst carving through the surf above, the Sceptre has built upon this framework to deliver a watch more capable of surviving in the depths.

Strength Personified

The case of the Sceptre is aggression and strength personified. Reaching 42mm in diameter by 12.65mm tall, it's perfectly sized to have bold wrist presence but wear neatly too. The case has a polished chassis showcasing the rugged aesthetics of the Sceptre design.
