PIONEERING SPIRITS
To soar into the sky and float aloft in the wind, peering down on the world below, knowing that, if you so wished, you could touch the stars.
Welcome to the Atlantic Chronoscope, borne from a love of flight, inspired by the pioneering spirits that risked life and limb to achieve it.
FlighT Through the ages
The Atlantic range traverses flight through the ages, from the first one-way hop across the Atlantic Ocean by Alcock & Brown, to the first solo Atlantic crossing by Lindbergh, each colourway celebrates each milestone.
The Flyer is our take on the traditional “Flieger” style aviation watch, with white-on-black colouring and maximum contrast. The design of the numerals on the Flyer takes direct inspiration from the altimeter from the R34 airship, with the tangential 4-8 numbers.
TRANSATLANTIC CROSSING
Inspired by the advent of lighter-than-air powered flight, the Atlantic has been designed through a process of deep research into the time period when flight was still a concept alien to most. In particular, we have focused on the R34 airship, the craft with so much potential and possibility attached to it from manufacture through to maiden flight. The R34 went on to become the first airborne craft to complete, without incident, a double-transatlantic crossing.
THE BEATING HEART
For the Atlantic we have specified the inimitable, beefy powerhouse that is the Seiko NE88a. This collection of exquisitely machined and finished parts is the flagship of Seiko’s movement range.
The NE88a offers us both an increased power reserve of 45 hours and a timing mechanism built within the chassis to offer a 12-hour chronoscope function. The NE88a features a date complication, both automatic winding and manual winding as well as hacking, quick-set date, shock protection and a very respectable accuracy for keeping precise time.
FEAR OF THE DARK
The Flyer features superluminova glowing markings, so whether you're crossing the Atlantic on a red-eye or the road in twilight, you'll be able look down and quickly read the time. We also love how the Flyer's lume exudes a cockpit'esq instrument glow.
Sweating the small stuff
The Atlantic comes in our bold, stark watch box - a monolithic black cuboid opens up to reveal the beautifully crafted, bespoke booklet, detailing how the Atlantic came to be. Lifting the booklet reveals yet more; the letterpressed, hand-stamped collector's card sits within a precision cut recess and features a quick reference guide on the reverse. The tray that holds the booklet and card can be removed with the black ribbon revealing the Atlantic below; don't forget to look on the underside of the tray, for it holds the motto permeating through all of MWC.

HOW MARLOE BECAME AN ESTABLISHED BRITISH BRAND
In 2015, a simple twist of fate brought together the two founders of Marloe Watch Company. Oliver & Gordon were intrigued by design, the slow-living counter culture, and beautiful mechanical watches - within a year, the first Marloe watch was created, and Marloe Watch Company was born.
Marloe design watches that they’re proud of, made by manufacturing partners who over the years have also become friends. Honest watches made with care and attention - unpretentious, proven quality.
