The Devil's In The Detail

Bright orange, the international colour of emergency, adorns much of this dial, but a central section made up of bright white and off-white stripes, known in heraldry as ‘bendy’, brings balance. We see diagonal stripes on vehicles and equipment used in the emergency services, and we love the textural impact it has here on the Rescue dial.

The luminous hour dots are surrounded by an orange hairline, boosting clarity from the chalky white surface. On the outer edge of the dial, a radially brushed ring with dark blue printed minute marks sits, gleaming and metallic, adding a machine-like rawness. Finally, the rotating chapter ring, solid orange with white printed numerals and outer ring, and a big dot of luminous compound at 12 o’clock for easy time referencing. It’s bright, bold and beautiful.

The Solent Timer retains the nautical aesthetics and maritime colourways of its predecessor, the Solent, but we’ve made improvements across the board - better sealing screw-down crowns, iterated case design, dial design and new colourways build upon the feedback we’ve received over the years, whilst keeping the rock-solid Miyota powerplant at the heart.

EMINENTLY WEARABLE

The case size of the Timer is a bold yet eminently wearable 42mm at bezel and, despite the additional complication of an internal mechanism for the chapter ring, remains a surprisingly slender 12mm, with a 22mm strap width.
