The Devil's In The Detail

In keeping with tradition, the matte black base layer remains, as does the faded tan printing for most of the dial treatment. However, we have added a black-nickel plated metallic ring for the minute track upon which bright white minute marks are printed - it’s a simple yet clever contrast to bring the dial to life. 

A polished hand set with a white hairline running seconds hand, make this a fantastic, engaging dial that switches from the deepest black to a dark blue gradient, owing to the multiple coatings of blue anti-reflection treatment on the flat sapphire crystal.

COLOURWAY

The customary Black Edition colourway remains with the matte black base layer and faded tan printing - including a hairline contour around each dot of lume.

MARITIME FEEL

Inspired by navigational dividers, the hands retain a maritime feel, with a needle point opening up to a thicker stalk that now holds luminous compound.

ANTI-REFLECTION

The dial switches from the deepest black to a dark blue gradient, owing to the multiple coatings of blue anti-reflection treatment on the sapphire crystal.

The Timer's caseback features a chapter ring with the proverb coined by President Franklin D. Roosevelt: “A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor.”

Nautical Aesthetics

The Solent Timer retains the nautical aesthetics and maritime colourways of its predecessor, the Solent, but we’ve made improvements across the board - better sealing screw-down crowns, iterated case design, dial design and new colourways build upon the feedback we’ve received over the years, whilst keeping the rock-solid Miyota powerplant at the heart.

EMINENTLY WEARABLE

The case size of the Timer is a bold yet eminently wearable 42mm at bezel and, despite the additional complication of an internal mechanism for the chapter ring, remains a surprisingly slender 12mm, with a 22mm strap width.
