The Devil's In The Detail

A dark marine blue throughout, the main dial features the same ‘bendy’ stripes as the Rescue dial and, again, lends an endearing textural element to the otherwise matte blue dial. Surrounding this is a machined steel ring that brings some visual sparkle to an innately brooding dial, with dark blue printed minute marks for legibility and ease of time reference.

The inner rotating chapter ring retains the same dark blue of the dial, with white printed numerals and a vivid cyan perimeter line. A luminous pip at 12 o’clock aids quick time referencing.

The minute and hour hands are fully polished with a gentle sword profile - great legibility in all lights. The hairline running seconds hand is bright white with a turquoise centre circle - a magnificent sweeping hand standing in stark contrast against the deep blue of the dial.

BENDY STRIPES

The dark marine ‘bendy’ stripes lend an endearing textural element to the matte blue dial.

BROODING

Surrounding the dial is a machined steel ring that brings some visual sparkle to an otherwise brooding dial.

Maritime Feel

Inspired by navigational dividers, the hands retain a maritime feel, with a needle point opening up to a thicker stalk that now holds luminous compound.

smörgåsbord

Owing to the multiple coatings of anti-reflection treatment on the sapphire crystal, we're treated to a smörgåsbord of blue.

Lume

The Solent Timer features proprietary lume on both the dial and hands to aid low light time referencing.

The Solent Timer retains the nautical aesthetics and maritime colourways of its predecessor, the Solent, but we’ve made improvements across the board - better sealing screw-down crowns, iterated case design, dial design and new colourways build upon the feedback we’ve received over the years, whilst keeping the rock-solid Miyota powerplant at the heart.

EMINENTLY WEARABLE

The case size of the Timer is a bold yet eminently wearable 42mm at bezel and, despite the additional complication of an internal mechanism for the chapter ring, remains a surprisingly slender 12mm, with a 22mm strap width.
