DETAILS

We couldn’t have had a daytime watch (Madainn) without an evening alternative - so a dark, textured version in deep blue/grey with orange accents was born for when daylight fades. Alongside the dark palette is a large silvery sub-dial, reminiscent of our moon passing over the twilight sky.

We’ve always had an affinity with the moon and stars, so the Gealach is perfect for those nights spent staring up at the sky, which in the design office’s new location in the Hebrides is quite spectacular - and the reason we've named this model the Gealach (pronounced gya-lach), meaning ‘moon’ in Scots Gaelic.

The Devil's in the detail

The Gealach features a moon-inspired subdial, a waffle-textured dial, and Swiss Superluminova BG-W9 lume for low-light visibility. Its rounded case with vintage-style wire lugs and black-infilled crown draws from classic pocket watches, while skeletonised hands and a baton seconds hand with a counterweight enhance its functionality. Produced in small batches, each watch is uniquely serialised.

The beating heart

The Daytimer Gealach is powered by the Swiss Made Sellita SW-261-1 manual movement which features a sub-second hand at 6 o'clock and a quick-set date complication. Another bullet-proof calibre from Sellita that we're proud to have power the Daytimer - we believe in doing things properly.

A nod to pocket watches

The case has a two-piece rounded profile, a reference to the pocket watches from which modern wristwatches originated, and has welded wire lugs to continue this connection. Unlike cumbersome pocket watches, the Daytimer measures a very wearable 41mm in diameter and a slim 10.5mm thick.

Homage to the dreamers

Kind words spoken from small lips into cynical ears, from a decade spent searching for meaning; to exist in a place where dreams collide and magic is witnessed.

Looking into her face full of wonder and asking “What do you dream about?” brings a world of imagination to life. And so that’s what I did. I asked my daughter to draw what she dreamed about, what her wee mind processed from a day of learning and seeing new things for the first time.

She drew a starry night sky filled with angels, unicorns, moons, smiling faces, sausage dogs and deer. It’s within the darkness that the magic reveals itself.

To have a mind crammed so full of happiness, astronomy and mythical animals such that, even in the dreamworld, they roam free and alive; the vivid innocence of youth.

We dream to be inspired, surprised or delighted. The Daytimer is our homage to the dreamers.
