The Cardinal sports a black, subtly textured dial, with hidden recessed yellow ring beneath the chamfered bezel. The unusual and eye-catching matte case will patina over time, to give a completely unique look to the watch.

I have bought a few watches online. Often it’s been a bit of an anti climax. Not this time. The packaging and box created an excitement and the watch itself is just beautiful. Found myself smiling as I put it on. It’s not been off my wrist, putting my 1964 Omega Seamaster on a break. Love the orange accents and the industrial look case. The visuals on the back are great with the wonderful automatic movement. It’s caught the eye of a couple of watchful watch enthusiasts who are very impressed with the quality especially for the pounds paid! Keep up the good work Marloe.

I love the matt case finish...but it marks too easily. I love the face/dial...but some days due to the size it feels like a watch for old/sight impaired people. Sea inspired but no screw down crown is odd....or date. As is the lack of lume...?? Would prefer a smaller 38-40mm case Love the horween leather strap. Love the case back and inscription Love the packaging and fast delivery. Looking to buy a sceptre black so overall.... 😊

Love the Solent- the open back auto wind is mesmerizing. The sand blasted frame reminds me of the granite coasts of New England, interspersed with the black and yellow rangefinders surrounding the harbors. Evokes old memories of being at sea. Just a pleasure to behold.

Remarkable value from Marloe on the Solent - highly legible, unique design cues with the matte case & nautical themed dial, durable and has made it into my shortlist of favorite-wearing pieces. Shipped quickly in quality packaging, ideal as a gift. I was late to learn of Marloe & missed out on some of their discontinued or sold-out vintage-inspired models; I check back now, as this is an independent brand that's worth following. Couldn't be more pleased.

This is my second marloe having recently bought the windward. I just love these, so original and superbly executed design. Faultless packaging. The choice of movement is bang on the money. The Devil's In The Detail

The first thing you notice about the Cardinal is its incredibly unusual and eye-catching matte case - which is designed to patina over time to give a completely unique look to your watch - complemented by the polished face of the crown, a small flash of embellishment. The case design is a combination of various energy-dissipating angles and chamfers, inspired by lighthouses and ocean-furniture designed to withstand brutal environments.

The Cardinal dial takes inspiration from navigational buoys of the same name, used in maritime pilotage to indicate the position of sub-surface hazards, such as wrecks, reefs and rocky-outcrops, by displaying the direction to which you must pass the buoy - either North, East, South or West - using a simple set of triangular marks.

Depth Dynamics

The world of seafaring is steeped in elegance and fortitude, stoicism and bravery. The Cardinal reflects this sentiment; our own sentinel of the sea.

ROBUST SIZING

The case of the Solent measures 42mm in diameter, a comfortable size for most wrists, and features 22mm lugs - a modern sizing combination. To the peak of the domed crystal the watch has a depth of 10.5mm, whilst the 47mm lug-to-lug sizing complements the case perfectly.
